Team Cards enable children to acknowledge and celebrate the important people in their lives

Deliver a fun and meaningful activity that is underpinned by Narrative Therapy

The Team Cards Activity invites children to identify key sources of support or ‘team-mates’ in their lives. The use of a sports team metaphor alongside a fun Top Trumps™️ inspired activity creates space for stories of significant people to be shared. This helps to build a sense of social support and connected identity, recognising the contribution people make to one another's lives. This mini-course is aimed at all children's workforce, including allied health and educational professionals. It will equip you to deliver this activity as part of one-to-one or small group work with children aged approximately 7-13, although older children and adults can also appreciate this activity. An all round great tool for your practitioner toolkit that can also be employed with families as part of parent and child sessions.
Team Card

Team Cards are one of the activities from a unique resilience intervention programme called Team of Life

We have adapted this activity so that it can be delivered outside of the full programme as part of individual or small group work.

Using the universal language of sport rather than the language of problems, Team of Life invites people to identify key sources of support or ‘team-mates’ in their lives. The use of sporting metaphors helps develop rich, strength-based stories and skills for tackling problems, avoiding obstacles, and achieving goals in life. This builds resilience by building a sense of social support and connected identity. The collective knowledge and resources of teams are acknowledged and shared in playful and creative ways that recognise the contribution people make to one another's lives.
